the very first story in this collection is - i am not making this up: the adventures of Airmale - a mail-themed flying superhero who accidentally turned himself super with a ridiculous home science experiment conducted while wearing a literal halloween costume for a party - and his sidekick, Stampy.the story itself is about a ludicrous chase to steal a turtle that has instructions for a bank heist (which essentially come down to 'we will be robbing a bank at 9am') which has been gifted to Airmale's alter ego, Professor Kenneth Stephens.when thugs descend upon Prof. Stephens and demand he surrender the turtle, he ducks into a nearby car - in full view of the thugs - and changes into Airmale. in a car with untinted windows. in full view of said thugs.he then releases the parking break and gets out of the car on the opposite side, calling out "I'LL TAKE CARE OF EVERYTHING, PROFESSOR STEPHENS!" as the obviously empty car rolls away.the thugs are *completely fooled.*Airmale then proceeds to beat up the thugs while delivering mail-related puns.two pages into the first story and i'm completely hooked.10/10, would laugh like Rich Evans again

Having been a Golden Age comic collector since 1956 as well as an author of a Golden Age comic fanzine back in 1977, I look for off-the-wall and unusual Golden Age comic strip reprints, and this volume certainly fits the bill. It's great to have someone collect all these rare stories into a large, full color volume........well worth the cost for all of this enjoyable reading.
The sequel to super weird heroes is just...as weird as the first volume! This has to be read to be believed. It makes me wonder if the folks who created these characters were sleep deprived!
This book is a lot of fun!
