I love it! I've attached a few pictures hoping to show size and a sampling of the artwork inside.Cons:1. Flexible cover doesn't close properly.(see photo )2. More quotes in the margins than artwork to color.3. I need to place blank paper between pages when I draw back to back as the colored pencil tends to smear as if I were tracing the new drawing onto the previous page.Pros:1. It's beautiful.2. The pages are thick enough to erase without tearing.3. A nice size for carrying around in your purse or for study in church.4. The lettering is also a nice size. I use my regular reading glasses and have no need of a magnifying glass.

I wondered how they were going to print a full Bible with illustrations to color - but I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase! The first thing I noticed was that the pages are not white - they're a cream color. The pages are thin, but not as thin as a traditional Bible. I use Prismacolor pencils and the coloring looks just fine, no heavy show-through on the reverse side. I'm not sure how well markers would work. The paper is smooth and accepts color well.I think the part I'm happiest with is that it LAYS FLAT! I was afraid I'd have to struggle with a tight binding and smash it with one hand while coloring with the other, but it's wonderful.Others have commented on the pretty cover, and I agree, it's beautiful and has a silky smooth feel to it.Thank you, Christian Art Publishers, for a quality product that I know I'm going to get hours and hours of joy out of.

I purchased this item so that I could begin Bible study. I also enjoy scrapbooking and being creative. The Bible pages are very substantial, not thin. They will not tear or bleed through with writing. I have used a gel pen, colored pencils, and Bible highlighters and none have caused any issues with the pages (paper). There is ample space on the margins to write and make notes. The print is clear, and easy to read. The outside cover has a fabric type silky feel making the book very enjoyable to hold and it is very pretty.

I love this product because it is beautiful and finely detailed. There are a lot of pictures and details to color as I like to do adult coloring anyway. I like that there are no explanatory notes, I have other Bibles for that. I LIKE THAT IT IS KJV. Thank you to the publisher for offering it. Yes there are lots of journaling Bibles but for those of us who can't draw... I like that this one is already ready for my color inspiration. It came beautifully boxed. I decided on the flexible roses cover rather than the pink cover over hardboard as I wanted a slightly lighter weight. The cover does sort of flip up a bit but that's no problem, I can always use a silly band or something to hold it closed however its usually open anyway on the table or slipped into my purse. Its a nice size and print is fine. I use my kindle for everything but sometimes you just want the tactile feel of a real book. This is the deal for me. Pricing is appropriate given amount of artwork and care in the design. They should have just put the ribbon closure on this Bible too, but then again those can get stretched out over time. Frankly the cover is eye catching and a testimony to the importance of the Book. See pics...

I'm not big on writing reviews but I love this Bible. I purchased the recommended tabs also and I'm very happy with them as well!! They add a beautiful touch. I was so pleased with this Bible I purchased one for my friend and will soon purchase one for my daughter who loves mine. The cover is silky and beautiful, plenty of blank sides for journaling and ample artwork to color. I use prismacolor pencils the most and the color lays down well, and with mediums that may bleed through I use gesso. My granddaughter is fascinated by the pictures and I hope this is the beginning of a lifelong love of the Bible. My only wish - that it had a small concordance for quick references for convenience but the size is very nice without the extra pages. This Bible makes me feel creative while dwelling on scriptures. I'm so happy it is KJV!! I love the old, authentic wording. Love love my purchase!

This is such a beautiful Bible. I am just beginning the journaling adventure and I am so excited to sit down with my new Bible. The pages are sturdier than a regular Bible so will be great for illustrations. I am very pleased with this purchase

This is such a beautiful Bible! I was really surprised to find a coloring Bible! I knew that I HAD to have one! I received it yesterday and it is amazing! The only thing that I noticed was that the pages are very thin...which of course, is common in Bibles which contain both the old and the new testaments! The drawings are very nice and the cover is amazingly beautiful! It is a silky feeling like "fabric" and looks and feels very durable! It comes in a very nice sturdy box to keep it in, if you so choose! As I have not started coloring in it yet, I can only say that I am pretty sure that you will need to use very soft colored pencils. I think anything else would bleed through! An awesome keepsake to pass down!

This is a beautiful Bible, and I truly enjoy being able to jot notes down that are not inside the text itself. An added bonus is being able to color in it, this personalizes your Bible in a way that is uniquely you! I love this Bible and will keep it for years to come.

From School Library Journal

Gr 9 Up-In this paranormal novel set in the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" universe, raven-haired twin sisters Athena "Nina" and Artemis live at the Watchers Academy, an Irish castle, training as Watchers. Nina hates Buffy because her father was Buffy's first Watcher and the slayer caused his death. Two months previously, another dimension was close to taking over Earth's. Watchers and many potential new Slayers were killed. Buffy destroyed magic and all interdimenstional portals and then disappeared. Now there's no Slayer. Her whole life, Nina's considered herself inferior to Artemis. Artemis trained as a Watcher and Nina was relegated to medic. Ever since magic was destroyed, Nina's felt stronger. After effortlessly killing a hellhound, Nina realizes that she's a Slayer-possibly the last one. Readers meet other characters, such as cute Leo, whom Nina once made a fool of herself over, who becomes her Watcher. And Honora, the hated Watcher whom Artemis adores, who endlessly teased Nina over her Leo crush. Nina also discovers a prophecy about twins: one is destined to mend the world, and another to tear it apart. "Buffy" fans will be thrilled with this opener. Readers unfamiliar with the series will also enjoy this exciting and well-plotted story with appeal to fans of Cassandra Clare or Robin McKinley's Sunshine. VERDICT Purchase where paranormal and urban fantasy are popular.-Sharon Rawlins, New Jersey State Library, Trentonα(c) Copyright 2011. Ahhh I had been going through the kindle store when this book came up as a recommendation I seen the title and blurb and was like I needed this!!!! I been major fan of Buffy the vampire slayer since i was kid growing up in the 90s that show and the world/fandom it and it's many spinoffs has impacted my life in various ways there's many lessons to be learned from it but I digress slayer brings in the descendents of Merrick Buffys first watcher and how they are handling things after Buffy had saved the world but the cost was magic being gone this was gut wrenching epic read filled with some familiar faces and many new ones can't wait to see what comes next keep up the fabulous work kiersten white

Despite never being a Buffy fan, I was intrigued by the idea of this story. And for the most part, I really enjoyed it. It’s not without its issues, but I think most people will like it for its references and fun factor.Nina is initially weak. Not a Watcher, she spends time healing...which seems to be her calling. Until something big changes insider her. And she becomes more. Along with this new aspect of her comes some changes to her world. The reappearance of demons and worse, her former crush. So, I could sympathize with her about a lot of things in her life. It wasn’t hard to feel sorry for her. But I also felt her inner dialogue became repetitive after a while. She worried CONSTANTLY about the same things. She also thought the worst about her mother (which I could completely understand). As she’s trying to unravel the reason for the demons reappearance, she’s also trying to handle her new abilities, find out what her mother is hiding, decipher her feelings on her former crush, etc. There is a lot going on, but it was almost too drawn out at times. This is the first book I’ve read from White, so I can’t say for sure if she’s always wordy, but yeah. I was tempted to skim more than a few times just to see if SOMETHING would happen. Eventually it does, but it’s really close to the end. Probably the last 15%. Which really makes up for the pacing issues I had for the rest of the story.I wasn’t surprised by the ‘revelation’ towards the end. It’s pretty easy to see coming if you’ve ever read any story in which a character comes off as too perfect. It’s a neon red flag, for real. So while it wasn’t surprising, I was surprised at other pieces. (And omg, the epilogue is GENIUS!!)Anyway, enjoyable for the most part. You’ve just gotta trudge though a lot of...teenage angst and questioning of themselves. I do look forward to seeing what happens next for the characters and will definitely pick up the next installment!

I have to admit, I tried to read this book slowly. I wanted to savior every minute of it. Buffy is one of my favorite shows and having a story within Buffyverse is absolutely awesome. The storyline is great, the Buddy scenes are spot on, and I loved every second of this book. The cover says Book 1 so I will impatiently wait for Book 2. Please write it quickly.

I’m a huge Buffy fan. I have all the original books that came with original stories and have also loved the comics. This book is set between seasons 8 and 9 of the comics. It references characters we know and love, while introducing new ones for us to fall in love with as well. True to Buffy form, there’s a prophecy circling the slayer in question that culminates in the final act. It’s well written and has characters that seem like real Buffy characters.Definitely give it a chance.

This was a tough book for me to rate. I enjoyed it, but I also had some big issues with it. The book is (mostly) stand-alone, though basic familiarity with the Buffy TVS universe is helpful to follow the story. The author weaves some background into the narrative; in the continuing Buffy comics, she destroyed the Seed of Wonder, which was the source of magic on Earth. Slayers and vampires still have their powers, but no more can be called/made. This is key because the protagonist became the “Last Slayer” called before that happened.I enjoyed the book mainly because I liked the world-building, and the idea behind the main character. What happens if a healer, someone who wants to help others, becomes a Slayer? Nina believes whole-hardheartedly in the mission of the Watchers – an organization practically destroyed by Buffy. She has issues with Buffy and Slayers in general, so when she becomes one, it creates an internal conflict. She struggles with the violence her Slayer powers engender: stake first, ask questions later. Her instinct is to kill any and all demons, and she has to fight that when she comes across a wounded demon. One who doesn’t harm humans and is part of a greater conspiracy that could threaten everyone she cares about. Some readers were annoyed by the fact that Buffy doesn’t take part in the story but is referenced often (usually in Slayer dreams) as a target of anger. That didn’t bother me because it made sense to me that her actions throughout the years would make her a polarizing, even vilified, figure. She did destroy the Watchers and surely some Slayers would not be happy to have that power, and the life-threatening danger that comes with it.What nearly ruined the book for me was the overwhelming amount of angst. Much more than I’ve encountered in the many other YA novels I’ve read. Nina’s constant self-doubt, and intermittent whining, made it difficult to root for her at times. And, I hated the fact that the characters become conveniently stupid to help propel the plot. Nina immediately puts her trust in people she barely knows because they "believe in her" and are happy she’s now a Slayer. The bad guys are telegraphed so strongly they may as well have had blinking neon signs: “Do Not Trust Me.” And, other characters know she is a Slayer, but dismiss her dreams out of hand even though Slayer Dreams are a critical part of the mythology and Nina has proven at least once that she has them.Naturally, Nina and her sister are part of a prophecy, and have a still hidden enemy within their ranks, so this is meant to be the first of a likely (YA standard) trilogy. And, I enjoyed the book enough that I would read a sequel. I just hope the author tones down the angst.
