Ranging from a lecherous Scandinavian pilot, to a sheltered American Midwestern farmer, to an over-the-hill Italian plastic surgeon, and others, they universally cite their longing for mates with "traditional family values" as their motivation for being involved with Anastasia. Yes, the irony of expecting to find someone with these values willing to date strange foreign men, leave their own families, and move halfway around the world based on just a few online chats and chaperoned "dates" escapes them. This is indeed a sordid business where each party is the swindler and the mark, often at the exactly the same time. Quite eye opening!
